Day 1: Windhoek
Upon your arrival in Namibia our Namibian local guide will welcome you and accompany you to your accommodation AVANI Windhoek Hotel & Casino in the city. Dinner (main course + dessert) will be served at Joe's Beerhouse restaurant.
Day 2: Windhoek
After your breakfast we will set off on our city and township tour before we make our way to Okahandja, a small town the nearby Windhoek, famous for its wood carving with a visit to the local market. Lunch is taken during our safaris. After arrival at the lodge you have free time until our first Namibian safari experience in a private reserve.
Day 3: Etosha South
After Breakfast we leave for Etosha as we drive through Otjiwarongo and Outjo. We will arrive in the afternoon and have a first glimpse of Etosha. After the game drive we head back to the lodge which is located outside the Anderson Gate. Overnight stay at Etosha Safari Camp.
Day 4: Etosha National Park
We'll drive to the Etosha National Park. Etosha is the venue for some of the most unique game viewing experiences in Africa. Today we explore the edges of Etosha Pan in search of the abundant wildlife that occurs in the park. Lunch in a camp of the park. We continue from waterhole to waterhole looking for diverse wildlife. Later in the afternoon we head back to Etosha Safari Camp for dinner.
Day 5: Swakopmund
En route to Swakopmund, we will visit a Himba Village. It is home to the indigenous Himba tribe, who are half-nomadic people. The people are famous for maintaining the traditional way of life of their ancestors up to recent times. External influences have not polluted them, and this reflects in the way they dress, cook, trade, interact and live. An array of wildlife can be seen roaming freely close to the village. Guided tours are offered, and guests can look forward to exploring the village in its natural environment. Later we'll continue northwards and make our way to the coastal town of Swakopmund Reluctantly. We'll leave the Namib behind and after a stop at the little land mark of Solitaire, and our crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn, we continue to the Atlantic coastline. Swakopmund, with its quaint Bavarian style architecture, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia. Time spent here will be at leisure, enjoying the charm of the old town or undertaking one of the many optional activities on offer (scenic flights, quad biking, etc. at your own expense). Dinner will be held in a restaurant by the sea. Overnight stay at Swakopmund Sands Hotel.
Day 6: Swakopmund
After breakfast, we will drive to Walvis Bay for our Marine Dune Day with Walvis Bay Tours Guide. A morning Marine Boat Cruise is where a variety of bird species can be seen, as well as a seal colony. There is also some chance, if we are lucky, to see two of the dolphin species and the leatherback turtles that inhabit this area of the Namibian coast (visibility not guaranteed). A brunch on board is included, with oysters and finger food and local sparkling wine. Afternoon we drive to Sandwich Harbour to witness the only place where Ocean and Dune Meet, this afternoon activity is an ultimate one and worth exploring and experiencing it. Overnight stay at Swakopmund Sands Hotel.
Day 7: Namib Desert
Our next destination is the dune fields that cover the western reaches of the desert. Long dusty roads and sparsely populated farmlands offer us an insight into the vastness of rural Namibia. From the grasslands in the east to the red dunes of the west the slowly changing landscapes represent many faces of this desert country. Later in the afternoon we will be accommodated on the doorstep of the dune fields and if we are lucky, we may fall asleep to the unique calls of the elusive Barking Gecko. Dinner and overnight stay at Desert Grace Lodge.
Day 8: Sossusvlei
In the early morning departure to the morning colors over the red dunes. It is an iconic highlight of any trip to Namibia, and this morning we rise before the Sun to capture this great moment. A brisk ascent to Dune 45 provides the perfect vantage point to marvel at the changing colors of the desert. Once satisfied, we descend this famous dune and enjoy a hearty breakfast package before taking a 4×4 transfer to Sossusvlei, where we will spend time on foot to visit the pans at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. On our return to Sesriem we will have lunch, followed by a visit to Sesriem Canyon. Dinner and overnight at the Desert Grace Lodge.
Day 9: Back to Windhoek
After breakfast at the lodge we drive via Spreethorgte back to Windhoek. Upon arrival you can visit the Groove Mall and have lunch. Later on we will accompany you to the International Airport for our return flight and bid you farewell.
The standard price covers a shared room with two beds. Paired travellers are accommodated in shared rooms. Solo travelers will share a room with another traveler of the same sex.
